Data-Driven Management
A group of Rutgers administrative staff
Using state-of-the-art information technology, Rutgers implemented new systems to collect and analyze data in order to measure the performance of schools, administrative units, and the University. These tools enable managers to make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and the quality of our services to students, while giving the governing boards up-to-date information about the University's fiscal health.
New data-driven management efforts include:
- Responsibility Center Management budgeting model
- Goal-based performance management system for administrators
- Fifty dashboard metrics regularly reported to the Board of Governors
- Monthly financial tracking and reporting
- Research management reports
- A structured debt portfolio
