Chris Molloy to Serve as Interim Chancellor of RBHS
June 28, 2013
Dear Faculty, Students, and Staff:
We are in the final stages of appointing the first chancellor for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, the newly created division of Rutgers that will be launched on July 1 when most units of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey are integrated into Rutgers. I anticipate that we will very soon be able to announce the new chancellor, but, in the meantime, I have appointed Dr. Christopher Molloy to serve as interim chancellor, beginning July 1.
Chris Molloy, who holds degrees from Rutgers and UMDNJ and came to Rutgers in 2007 as Dean of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, has been serving as Interim Provost for Biomedical and Health Sciences since 2011. He has developed a thorough knowledge of the schools, people, and programs that will form this new division. Moreover, Chris has provided thoughtful leadership during the integration process, and he is ideally suited to guide Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences during this limited interim period.
Dr. Molloy will work closely with all the deans of RBHS and with me to ensure its smooth operation. He will also be well positioned to assist the incoming chancellor with the transition once we have appointed that person.
Please join me in welcoming Chris Molloy and in offering him your support during this historic period for Rutgers. You can read more about Dr. Molloy’s appointment here.
Sincerely,
Robert L. Barchi
President
