In anticipation of the July 1, 2013, integration of most of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey into Rutgers, the signage on the New Jersey Medical School building in Newark is changed from UMDNJ to Rutgers. The New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act of the previous year resulted in the creation of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
