Opened in 2001, the Rutgers University–Camden Community Park includes tennis courts and a turf field for the Scarlet Raptor athletic programs. Rutgers and the City of Camden contributed some 5.5 acres to create the first-ever on-campus playing fields for softball and soccer. Four years after the park opened, the Rutgers–Camden softball team won the NCAA Division III National Championship Title and became the first Rutgers team to win an NCAA title in more than 60 years.
