Jon S. Carnahan

Jon Stephen “Steve” Carnahan, former agricultural program associate for Rutgers Cooperative Extension for Salem County and member of the advisory committee at the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES), died on April 4, 2017. He was 73 years old. Services will be private.

A longtime resident of Greenwich and Bridgeton, N.J., Carnahan served on the advisory committee of the NJAES focusing on maritime matters. He was chair of the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium advisory board and a member of the board of the Rutgers Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences. He served as a governor's appointee to the N.J. State Dredging and Delaware Bay Oyster Restoration Task Forces, and was president of the Seaboard Fisheries Institute. Carnahan was also active in numerous civic and charitable organizations.
