Judith Young

Judith Plytynski-Young, a licensed professional counselor and peer support specialist for the New Jersey Suicide Prevention Hopeline operated by University Behavioral Health Care, passed away on August 6, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 62.

Funeral services were held August 10 at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge.

Born in Jersey City, Plytynski-Young lived many years in Woodbridge. She earned a bachelor's and a master's degree from Kean College.

She worked tirelessly to support and save the lives of callers in psychiatric crisis as an inaugural staff member of the N.J. Hopeline.

She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Young; a sister, Christina Zaniewski and Christina's husband, Raymond; two brothers, James Plytynski and his wife, Diane, and Stanley Plytynski and his wife, Tricia; and eight nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, 151 Centennial Ave., Piscataway, N.J. 08854.
