In Memoriam

Arnold Grobman, Former Dean of Rutgers College, died on 07/08/2012.

Services will be held at Oak Hammock in Gainesville.

Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Missouri, St. Louis, a renowned herpetologist, educator, and researcher in atomic science for the Manhattan Project, died July 8, 2012 in Gainesville, Florida. In the 1950s, Dr. Grobman was the Director of the Florida State Museum. In 1959, he became the founding Director of the Biological Sciences Curriculum Study in Boulder, Colorado. After a stint as Dean of Rutgers College and a Vice-Chancellorship at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he was selected as Chancellor of the University of Missouri-St. Louis; published dozens of educational and scientific articles and wrote several books. The salamander Plethodon grobmani was named after him.
