In Memoriam

Noemi Ribot, Noemi, Faculty or Staff, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on 09/10/2010. Mrs. Ribot was a member of the Family and Community Health Services Department.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 1019 E. Landis Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Noemi Ribot, 78, peacefully went home to be with the Lord early on the morning of Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at home.

She was born in Lajas, Puerto Rico, on Aug. 29, 1932. In the late 1950s, Noemi moved from Puerto Rico to New Jersey. She was educated in Puerto Rico at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras and at Rutgers State University in New Jersey. She worked for the Rutgers University Extension Service Program as a nutritionist and retired after 31 years of service.

She was a founding active member of Vineland Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was an activist for many community programs. She loved God and was a firm believer in sharing the Gospel, not only in words and song, but through generous acts of love and kindness. She loved working within the community and enjoyed sharing her many talents: gardening, cooking, sewing, and arts and crafts.

Noemi leaves her most cherished and fond memories to her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Victor Miguel Ribot; children, Elaine J. Garcia (David), Vitov M. Valdes, E. Jeannette Valdes, Miguel Ribot (Sonia), Ruth Sharon Rachal (Darrin); and grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Garcia, Miguel, Steven and Mya Ribot, Ileana and Jeanette Rivera, Jayden and Jazmine Rachal, and Bella Valdes-Houghton. Noemi is also survived by her siblings, Elizabeth, Manases, Jonathan, Jabes, Eugenio, Rosa, Laura and Ester; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Maria Eugenia Pagan-Ramirez and Laudelino Pagan; a sister, Sara Simmons; and brother, Eliseo Pagan-Ramirez.
